There’s the ‘everyone smile on three’ ones. And then there’s the ‘what were we even laughing about?!’ ones. The ones that have you goofy-smiling to yourself in the hallway for ten minutes at a time. And I’ll be honest, I’m not a ‘smile on three’ kinda girl.
So when we go for our family photoshoot, I want it to be as un-photoshoot-y as possible! Let's go somewhere wild and have a proper adventure. Let’s hunt for shells, flip rocks, or kick our way through the waves. Let’s weave through forests or run across wide-open fields. Let’s be free.
I want to give you an experience where you’re not checking your phone every few minutes, or thinking about work in the back of your mind. You're just enjoying time together as a family, making memories with your children, and being just as present in the moment as they are.
There are family photos, and then there are family photos...
Don’t you just LOVE how kids see the world?! How everything’s exciting and new, completely fascinating, or ‘giggling for ten minutes’ hilarious. It’s like a superpower we forget we have. So when we go for or shoot, I wouldn’t dream of dampening that energy down, or caging it up. In fact, I think we’d be kinda crazy not to let them lead the way…
Obviously we do want the photos to be beautiful! So I’ll direct you towards the best light, maybe give you some games to play, or things to do (“go find a shell” is like sherbert to a toddler!) But I won’t be spending the whole time moving you limb-by-limb.
I want to capture all the wonderful things that make your family yours, today. From wild moments of freedom, to gentle pockets of stillness. Quiet cuddles and mischievous smiles. I want you to see the photos, smile, and say, “yeah, that’s us”.

The great thing about being a family photographer in Weymouth is the sheer amount of crazy-beautiful locations we have to choose from. From the burnt-amber cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, to emerald lagoons, forests, fields and wild meadows…it’s a photographer’s paradise all year round.
I take my boys exploring in our campervan pretty much every weekend (basically every chance I get!) So I know where it's safe to take kids and what the tides are up to. Which beaches are dog-friendly, where you can park easily, and where you’ll have a bit of a trek with the kids.

FAQ'S
What should I wear?
The most important thing here is that you are comfortable, i always find that people are happier and more confident when they are wearing something that makes them feel good. As a part of your photoshoot, you will have full access to my client wardrobe and upon booking, you will receive a full style and prep guide from me to help you plan ahead.
Where will my session take place?
The location is entirely up to you, where do you spend your time as a family, what do you love to do together, we can go hiking, have a campfire the list is endless but equally if you don’t have a particular place in mind- I am happy to recommend several magic locations i often use depending upon the season. Some of the locations do require a little walking so if you have any mobility issues, please do let me know before hand so I can take this into consideration. Travel up to 25 miles is included in the session fee, however if you would like a quote for a little further please let me know.
What should we expect for our shoot?
When people ask me what to expect, it's so hard to pinpoint my answer as every shoot i do is so different so my advice to you is to come with zero expectations. Embrace what comes whether that's the wind, the rain, fits of laughter, tears or whatever emotion unfolds. our time together is about capturing your life exactly how you live it. it normally takes around ten minutes to relax into a shoot and feel comfortable with what you are doing but i promise you, i do my upmost to make you feel confident and by the time you leave, you will feel like you have been on one epic adventure.
When should I book my shoot?
Its always best to get in touch as early as possible to avoid missing out. I typically book 3 months in advance so would suggest booking a newborn or maternity shoot just after your 20 week scan and for couples and families up to 4 months in advance.
What about the weather?
Being in the UK means the weather can be pretty unpredictable doesn’t it! I am an all round outdoorsy person so am happy to shoot in any weather and won’t usually cancel until the last minute as some of the rainiest days can end with the most epic of skies. If you are uncomfortable to shoot with little ones or if you don’t want to get wet i completely understand and we can reschedule to the nearest possible date.
What should we bring?
If you have any adventure gear you use as a family I am ALWAYS up for incorporating this from Paddleboards to skateboards, whatever makes your heart skip a beat. Perhaps you might want to bring some smaller props a blanket, a picnic, a change of clothes, then please do so. For babies and children; think about bringing some neutral toys; teethers, snacks, anything that may bring a sense of comfort for them but you’re happy to end up in images.
What areas do you cover and do you travel for sessions?
I mostly cover Dorset and some of South Devon. But i absolutely love to travel, as a family we are quite often on the road living out our little camper so if you have a location in mind please feel free to get in touch. If we are on the road in a particular place and I am planning on working I will share this on my instagram too.
(a small travel fee will be applied if travelling for work only outside a 25 mile radius)
What time will the shoot be?
For an indoor session these can be shot at any time of day. On location sessions take place during golden hour which is around 90 minutes before sunset or just after sunrise.
Can I choose the images?
Of course; the full gallery will be sent to you via a private online gallery and you can choose the number of images as per your package or upgrade if you wish.
